Sony Qualia005 introduced in 2004 was the first commercial LCD TV with LED backlit. The major function of LED is to produce better contrast and even more detailed picture in the dark areas.

The color difference is not much if LCD and LED are compared , but LED TV with RGB colored light technique can easily manipulate backlight as to capture correct colors of the images. There is no diminishing of image’s contrast ratio even at wider angles, LED TVs can easily match the Plasma TV’s viewing angle. The size of currently available LED TVs are ranging between 46inches to 70 inches. Motion lag difficulties are resolved with faster process rate time of LED technology. So blurring of pictures do not occur in fast action movies or videos .Power consumption of LED TV is less than any other TV. The 3C factor of clarity, color and contrast represent more sharper and brighter image and thus LED technology takes you to a awesome world 3d of imagination .

There are lots of LED TV models of various companies with more or less similar features some of them are Sony, Samsung, Philips ,LG etc.
